Forum 3000 event – Healthy Living in Melbourne

Our next Forum 3000 event is on Thursday 1st August 2019 at 6:00 pm at the Kelvin Club (14-20 Melbourne Place just off Russell Street). This month we are pleased to welcome guest speakers from the City of Melbourne: Greg Jacobs, Elise Baro, and Mike Rowell, and a presentation from our sponsor Kieser

The City of Melbourne is committed to being a city of wellbeing, and has a number of initiatives, programs and policies that aim to improve and protect the health and wellbeing of the community. The health projects team support this aim by developing and leading the health priorities for the organisation through the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan as well as through our Food Policy, which leads us to a more sustainable, healthy, equitable and diverse food system. Greg, Elise and Mike from the City of Melbourne will be discussing some of our Health and Wellbeing priorities and how we arrived at them, some of the work we do to support food growing in the city and our smoke-free areas project.

While we are on the topic of health our sponsor representative James Weir, will be providing a presentation on the benefits of strength training. the focus of this presentation will be the understanding what the strength training is, chronic health risks associated with the lack of strength training and how the training can prevent the onset of those health risks.

So if you’re into healthy lifestyle that is definitely not an event to be missed.
