Active Citizenship – Residents 3000 Voter Awareness Workshop

Resident 3000 is organising a pre-election voter awareness workshop in the lead up to the Victorian State Election 2022.  Voters play a critical role in democratic governance with their active participation in the political process. The interactive event will help empower voters to exercise their active citizenship with greater awareness about the Australian political system, role of voters in a representative democracy and making informed choices with authentic information.

As Australians, we have a responsibility to uphold our democratic system. This workshop will be of interest to Melbourne CBD voters seeking to understand the Australian political system and how to make their voice heard in elections. All voters welcome, including those who will be voting for the first time in Australia.

Speaker: Arman I Rashid, PhD. Born in Kuala Lumpur, Dr Arman is a Melbourne-based political analyst-cum-mental health professional with experience of consulting in international governments and organisations, including the World Bank, Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs & International Trade and US State Department.  He is passionate about democratic governance and has written on Active Citizenship for CBD News:
