Our Members’ Event and pre-dinner drinks night is next week on Thursday 4th May 2017 at 6:00 pm at the Kelvin Club (14-20 Melbourne Place just off Russell Street). This month we are pleased to welcome two guest speakers: Scott McElroy and Kim Davey from hockingstuart Melbourne. Our guests will provide a market update on properties in the inner-city and they will discuss the trends in apartment sales from buyer and seller perspective. They will also talk about leasing apartments in the city. So if you would like to find out more about the current state of the property market in our city, this is an event not to miss.
Scott McElroy, the Director of hockingstuart Melbourne, is one of Melbourne’s most experienced inner-city real estate practitioners. As one of hockingstuart’s longest serving agents, recently clocking up 26 years, Scott has seen a huge amount of change in Melbourne’s real estate scene over that time. Scott was heavily involved in the sale of many CBD buildings through the Postcode 3000 initiative in the early 1990’s and is passionate about everything Melbourne has to offer as a great place to live.
Kim Davey, the Leasing Manager at hockingstuart Melbourne, lives and breathes all that is good about living in the heart of the city. Kim oversees hockingstuart’s property management division and has his finger on the pulse of CBD rental demands and the issues that impact on the returns in the city. With the city attracting a widespread profile of tenant types and the emergence of Airbnb in the market, Kim will discuss how this is impacting on returns and building management.
We will also have our Committee Member for Media – Artur Hajda – discuss the results of the recent Residents 3000 Survey. 
He will tell us what the survey revealed about Melbourne city residents’ reasons for making Melbourne their home and what are their main likes and dislikes about living in the city.
