Neighbourhood Marketplace

Dear members and friends,

Residents 3000 would like to invite you to our annual event – Neighbourhood Marketplace.

Thursday, 6th May 2021 from 6.00pm – 8:30pm
at the Kelvin Club (14-20 Melbourne Place just off Russell Street)

The event is co-hosted by Residents 3000, City Precinct and City of Melbourne.

The event is inspired by Australia’s Neighbour Day, which is held annually on the last Sunday in March. Neighbour Day is Australia’s annual celebration of communities and friendly streets, encouraging people to connect with those who live in their neighbourhood. For the residents of City of Melbourne it is about building community and connections between a diverse community of residents, small businesses and City of Melbourne agencies, projects and departments.

“We all want to lead a good life, at the heart of a thriving community, among people we trust and within an environment of mutual respect. Neighbour Day gives us an opportunity to reach out to connect and to become more engaged with our local community. Neighbours don’t have to be best friends – but the role of neighbour is a distinct and precious one.” Neighbour Day Ambassador – Hugh Mackay AO.

The celebration of the Neighbour Day is even more important in 2021, a year into a global pandemic, after times of lockdowns, and with a shift in people’s habits and behaviours. The Residents 3000 motto of connecting, informing and supporting the members of our community couldn’t be more true and perfectly matching the intentions behind the upcoming event intended to help build a thriving community of residents and businesses in the heart of Melbourne.

If you are a resident or business in the city, and are interested in engaging with your local community, then the Neighbourhood Marketplace is an event you don’t want to miss!
