Forum 3000 – Metro Tunnel Project update

Residents 3000 are pleased to invite you to our first Forum 3000 of the year, which will be held at the Kelvin Club, 14-30 Melbourne Place (off Russell Street) on Thursday, 1 February 2024, at 6:00pm.

With testing now underway, the Metro Tunnel will open in 2025, creating a new end-to-end rail line from Sunbury in the west to Cranbourne / Pakenham in the south-east, with bigger and more modern trains, and five new stations.

We look forward to this annual presentation from the Metro Tunnel Project team, as they take us on a captivating underground excavation and construction journey, and the project nears completion next year.

Our guest speakers are:

  • Blythe Chidgey – Town Hall Station Communications Manager (Cross Yarra Partnership)
  • Melinda Kelly – State Library Station Communications Manager (Cross Yarra Partnership)
  • Teresa Scalise – Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Project Co (Cross Yarra Partnership)
  • Luke Diggins – Senior Creative Strategy Advisor, Metro Tunnel Project  (Rail Projects Victoria)
  • Barry McGuren – Manager, Landowner and Business Support Services (Rail Projects Victoria)

With the Town Hall Station and State Library Station works within the CBD nearing completion over the coming year, the presentation will include time for questions and interaction with our guest speakers.
